In 1985 the first Affair of the Heart show took place in Oklahoma City attracting 60 booths and 800 attendees. In 1995, the business expanded to Tulsa. By 2007, a second show was added in Tulsa. Today there are two shows a year in Tulsa and three in Oklahoma City.

The Affair of the Heart shows are committed to showcasing talented artisans, crafters and independent retailers to the public in support of their crafts and the entire arts and crafts industry. In 2025, the founders and original owners retired, selling the company to Marketplace Events.
